The Company
Geocronos Ltda. is a company set up by geologists to offer geological services and consultancies in the field of petrography, ore microscopy and applied mineralogy, as well as for mining exploration and regional geology. More than 15 years of experience working with rocks and minerals from different deposits and metallogenic ambients in Chile, such as Copper Porphyry, Gold Porphyry and Epithermals and IOCG deposits, ensures that the company can provide a comprehensive, competent and highly professional consultancy.
Our fundamental objective is to provide a personalized attention for our clients in such a way as to fully satisfy their requirements both from the point of view of the costs as well as the time taken to give the response.

Petrography
The analysis of thin sections of rocks includes a complete description of the primary mineralogy as well as that of alteration, with emphasis on the analysis of the textures, type and intensity of the alteration and the relative abundance of the mineral species present in the sample.The information obtained is recorded in a report which contains the descriptive tables, the classification of the sample and a supplement that includes a photographic register highlighting the principal minerals and textural characteristics of the analyzed sample.
Ore Microscopy
We offer the classic service of the description of ore minerals from a polished section as well as the complete service of characterization of the metallic minerals and their association with minerals of alteration using a transparent-polished section. In both cases we place special emphasis on the relative abundance of the mineral species present, their textures and mineral paragenesis. Our main objective is to deliver an efficient service both in terms of the exactness of the description and the time of the response appropriate to the work solicited.
Aimed principally at resolving problems in the area of geo-metallurgy, we offer a complete study of all types of samples, whether this be for the feasibility stage of a mining project or for a defined metallurgic process. The afore-mentioned aims to optimize the process and improve the quality of the final product.

Regional Geology and Mining Exploration
- Geological mapping in mining zones and prospects including the mapping of areas of alteration.
- Reconnaissance and exploratory mining work at a grass roots level.
Comprehensive studies of prospects and deposits
Comprehensive research, whether in the field or in the laboratory, for prospecting zones and /or deposits aimed at defining the mineralization and the evolution of the hydrothemal fluids.
- Mapping and sample-taking
- Petrography and ore microscopy using transparent-polished sections with the support of analytic techniques such as X-ray diffraction and/or electronic micro-probes to identify the mineral problem phases.
- Studies and analysis of the mineral paragenesis.
- Micro-thermometric studies of fluid inclusions aimed at establishing the temperatures and salinity of the fluids involved in the generation of the mineralization.
